Ukrainian Migrants in Canada since 1991

This three-year study of post-1991 Ukrainian migrants in Canada will assess the long-term socio-economic integration of Ukrainian migrants who came to Canada after Ukraine gained political independence in 1991. How is this group faring economically, socially and civically, in comparison with other migrant populations and native-born populations? This joint project with the University of Alberta and McMaster University is funded by the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies

The Local State and Local Citizenship: Exploring Issues and Options Regarding Voting Rights for Permanent Residents

This study will examine practical options and models for extending the right to vote to permanent residents in municipal elections, regardless of their citizenship status. This study is funded by the Research Junction Development Grant, which promotes collaboration between U of S researchers and the City of Saskatoon. April Sora from the City of Saskatoon and Ali Abukar from Saskatoon Open Door Society are the project’s community partners.
